PERMACULTURE

What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a design approach that helps us create resilient, regenerative ways of living. Inspired by natural ecosystems, it offers practical tools and principles for designing gardens, farms, homes, communities, organisations, and everyday life in ways that support both people and the Earth.
At its heart, permaculture is about learning from nature. By observing how healthy ecosystems function, we can create systems that meet our needs while regenerating the landscapes, relationships, and communities we depend on.
Permaculture is often associated with food growing and land stewardship, but it also includes social and cultural dimensions. It can help us design healthier communities, strengthen local resilience, foster collaboration, and create systems that support wellbeing and meaningful participation.
On the pages linked here, I share my permaculture diploma designs and reflections from my own learning journey.

As the Norwegian Permaculture Association describes it:
“Permaculture means learning from nature. We use nature as a model when we design our homes, gardens, farms, forests, villages, cities, and even our own lives and organisations. The goal is to create well-functioning, resilient systems that meet our needs in balance with nature.”
